For years, its been battling with Toyota over who builds a better midsize sedan, and though the domestics (and others) are offering up compelling alternatives now, the Marysville, Ohio-built machine is still among the crème de la crème.
For 2008, the Accord sedan (there’s a new coupe too) takes more of an evolutionary approach styling-wise, while dialing up the size, safety and technological components.

As expected, premium materials and simple, modern design describes the philosophy behind the new four-door. Dimensionally, the Accord is 7.6 cm longer than the ’07 model, 2.8 cm wider and 2.3 cm taller. Inside, the interior volume moves the Honda from the midsize to the large sedan class, according to U.S. EPA standards.
Step up from the base 2.4-litre four-cylinder to the V6 model and there’s not only a 24-hp jump from last year’s bent-six — the most ever for any Accord — but also Honda’s Variable Cylinder Management system, which can operate in four- and three-cylinder modes for improved fuel efficiency.
