BMW Alpina B7
__Title__a
Alpina is one of these well renowned “improvement” European companies that have made themselves a name by improving already very competent
German cars. To create a B7, Alpina starts with a 750i, a regular wheelbase version of our 750Li. The engine is detuned to the 4.4-litre displacement previously
found in the 745i (as opposed to the 4.8 litres of today’s 750i) and a supercharger is added. The result: 500 hp @ 5500 rpm and 516 lb-ft @ 4250 rpm.
In German, such figures qualify as bullig. No translation necessary! Predictably, on-the-road performance results from the development effort are dramatic
when all 500 horsepower are put to use: 0 to 100 km/h comes in 4.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 300 kph is achieved. Unlike regular-production
and even M-version BMWs, the B7 does not have an electronic speed limiter. Canadian roads are simply too slow for such a powerful machine. It will take
on curves at speeds most cars wouldn’t be able to achieve, all the while keeping passengers
in absolute comfort. Aside from a slightly slow steering, every
thought from the driver is immediately transformed into action.
Be it acceleration, powerful braking, turn in or change of lane.
Yes, this blue whale will have you subsidize some black
gold millionaire in Dubai through your fuel bills, but
trust me, you will be doing it in style and
have fun doing it!
